Chastity L. Owens is a Lecturer of Social Work whose research seeks to understand evidence-based interventions in schools. Her clinical and administrative work has centered around advocating for students, teachers and families. She has served as a school social worker, a field instructor, a dean of student supports, a director of social work practice, and a medical social consultant in the school setting. She created several K-12 programs to provide positive behavioral intervention and support to students, increase school attendance and to enhance overall academic performance in schools. One such program was the highly successful Peer Mediation Program, which was a collaboration between the Schweitzer Fellowship Program and the American Medical Association.
