Dr. Gottlieb's research examines factors that bring people into the criminal justice system, the consequences of criminal justice involvement for individual, families and communities, and policy approaches that can reduce criminal justice involvement and its consequences. His most recent recent research project examined the impact of police encounters on educational outcomes for urban teens. Dr. Gottlieb teaches Policy I and II, and Social Statistics and Data Analysis.
