Christine Barber received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology at the University of Utah after serving in the United States Marine Corps for four years.
Her military experience led her to continue her studies at Saint Catherine University and University of Saint Thomas in Saint Paul, Minnesota where she received her MSW in 2016 with a focus in Clinical Military Social Work.
Christine has experience working in mental health crisis intervention, both over the phone and via text as part of TXT4Life, one of the first programs of its kind in the country.
She also has experience working with veterans for mental health therapy and case management as well as helping homeless veterans establish permanent supportive housing.
As a student at Jane Addams her research interests are focused on mental health disparities experienced by different populations, particularly female veterans and LGBTQ persons.
