About
Rachel Lagorio (she/her) graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from North Central College and an MSW from the University of St. Francis. She has experience working in the child welfare system with foster care youth and in the education sector with truant students in grades K-12. She is currently a visiting assistant professor at the University of St. Francis, teaching a variety of social work courses at the graduate and undergraduate level. Her research interests include the effects of caseworker attitudes and biases on child welfare case outcomes, the effects of childhood trauma on relationship building, and women’s issues and experiences.
In her free time, Rachel enjoys being in nature, traveling, thrift shopping, sewing, reading witchy novels, and amassing a hoard of craft supplies for the rainy day when she will finally use them.
