Jieun Lee received her bachelor’s degree in economics and master’s degree in social welfare from Ewha Womans University in South Korea. She is a Korean government-licensed social worker and served as a social worker in a non-government organization, developing suicide prevention education programs for children and adolescents in Korea. She also participated in several research projects on adolescents’ cyberbullying, child abuse, problematic alcohol use, and gambling addiction as a research assistant. In addition to her interest in big-data analysis on social welfare issues, Jieun’s research focuses on the mental health of children and adolescents, including cyberbullying, suicide ideation, child abuse, and addiction.
