About
Marybel Flores worked as a community and hospital care coordinator at the University of Illinois Chicago, performing community and hospital visits to the elderly in order to complete comprehensive case management services, linking clients to city, state and community services and preventing premature admissions to long term care facilities. She also directed the Central West Case Management Unit at the Jane Addams Center for Social Policy and Research, which served 5,000 elderly residents on Chicago's West Side. In that role, she also supervised MSW student internships at the Center.
Marybel leads the college’s office of admissions and financial aid, where she is directly involved with student recruitment and the awarding of scholarships, and serves as the college’s representative at UIC’s Urban Health Program, which seeks to increase minority inclusion in the health sciences and the health professions.
At the Jane Addams Center for Social Policy and Research, Marybel works on social policy initiatives affecting aging vulnerable populations.
