Marybel Flores, MSW
Visiting Assistant Dean for Admissions and Financial Aid and Visiting Clinical Assistant Professor
Marybel Flores received both her B.S.W. and M.S.W. degrees from the Jane Addams College of Social Work. She interned at Casa Central’s Adult Day Service and later became a community and hospital care coordinator at the University of Illinois at Chicago, performing community and hospital visits to the elderly in order to complete comprehensive case management services; link clients to city, state and community services; and prevent premature admissions to long term care facilities. Marybel works on social policy initiatives affecting aging vulnerable populations for the Jane Addams Center for Social Policy and Research.
Marybel also leads the college’s office of admissions and financial aid, where she will be directly involved with student recruitment and the awarding of scholarships.
She also serves as the college’s representative at UIC’s Urban Health Program, which seeks to increase minority inclusion in the health sciences and the health professions.
