About

Alison Stogsdill obtained a bachelor's degree in sociology and criminal justice from Illinois State University and a master's degree in social work from DePaul University. Originally from rural, central Illinois, Alison has lived in the Chicago area for more than five years. She has served in positions/areas such as juvenile justice and violence prevention services, Cook County courts, academic access and programming for adolescents and teens, as well as child welfare and foster care. Alison currently serves as the Director of Foster Care at Child Link in Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood. Her research interest concentrates on forensic social work, specifically how social workers can assist law enforcement, decrease the rate of incarceration, and better assist community members in need. When not performing social work-related tasks, you can find Alison hanging out with her two dogs or three cats.
